When I think of the “perfect summer dress” I think of versatility. I want a dress I can wear to a lunch date, wedding, brunch with the girls, run errands, day at the beach… you get the idea. So it has to be versatile enough to be dressed up and down, it has to be comfortable, and it has to be flattering whether I ate a plate of ribs or an entire pizza #versatile
Enter this dress. I saw this in store when it first came out and immediately passed. This was because of the elastic waist. I had never met a dress with an elastic waist that didn’t look cheap to me on the hanger and strange on my body. This was the first that changed all that.
I’m not sure how, but it is so flattering. There’s no weird poufing out at the top and you can adjust the elastic to look and feel the best on your body. I also love that it has an eye hook at the front so you can have it be a deeper V of more modest if you want. Add in the ruffles and pretty print and I had to get it. I opted to pair it with a little cross body and heels that pull from the blue in the dress.
This will easily be my go to for summer days and evening dates. I’m seriously just sitting over here waiting on a sunny day and Jesse to take me on a date (Jesse, if you’re reading this… *queue Jeopardy music* )
I hope you have a wonderful week and enjoy any sunshine you may have! I’ll see you soon XO ~Rach
