Hair Care Review

Hair Care One Pot Slop #1

There are so many posts about skin care and serums and moisturizers, and creams, and beauty regimes, but where are all the hair care posts?? Between the heat and the bleach and the sun and the chlorine, I want to make sure my hair stays happy and healthy so it doesn’t revolt on my head and make me look like a member of Mufasa’s pride. So here is my little hair care review, short, sweet, and something I completely couldn’t live without.

1- Shea Moisture hair mask: I got this at Ulta on the half off shelf and it was the last one left. Even on a sale table if there’s only one left I usually assume that means a lot of other people love it or want to try it and for $7 I grabbed it up and have loved it ever since.

This is the first time I’ve used this brand and I’m so glad I found it because the product is amazing and they donate 10% of sales to the Sofi Tucker Foundation, to help women-owned businesses, or to support the communities where they source their ingredients, so not only do they retail for an amazing price (full price is only $12.99 and they are on BOGO 50% OFF!) but you can feel good about your purchase as a donation as well. I’m looking forward to trying these 2 hair masks next: Fruit Fusion Coconut Water & Jamaican Black Castor Oil.

My routine is going to the gym and swimming laps in the pool, so my hair gets doused with chlorine regularly, and it’s not her fav… Once I get out of the pool I rinse my hair really well and then I put this mask on when I get home (even though it says ‘apply to clean hair’ I do what I want lol). I let it sit for as long as I can, anywhere from 5min to an hour, (it will dry and your hair will feel crunchy if you leave it this long but it rinses out don’t worry). Then I shower and shampoo my hair really well to get out any extra mask or chlorine and of course condition. Your hair will feel like it has never heard of “color” or “chlorine”.

2- Garnier Fructis Leave-in conditioner & Sleek & Shine Anit Frizz Serum: I always like to hydrate my hair with a leave in conditioner and/or oil so it can hydrate and recoup over night, just like you do for your skin with a face serum. I’ve been loving these drug store ones and the leave in conditioner was actually a re-buy (and only $3!). I run a bit of the oil through the ends of my hair after I’ve styled it if they are looking or feeling extra fried. I also love that they don’t make your hair feel like it has anything in it and it doesn’t weigh it down.

3- Organix Moisturizing finishing spray: This spray is also something I got at Ulta from the same sale shelf as the mask and it was only $3! How could I say no? They had a few different ones but I went with one promising hydration and shine and that’s exactly what it delivers.

This is a finishing spray so after you dry and style your hair you spritz this in and it just makes your hair come to life. It instantly takes away any dullness and makes it look shiny, healthy, and hydrated. Seriously if you want to try a new product to help keep the integrity of your hair the mask and this spray are all you need. Even at full price this is only $7.99 and I swear it makes a HUGE difference.

Thanks for hanging out with me and I hope this was helpful! Let me know if you have a hair care routine like this or if you just enjoyed this post. I want to make sure I’m publishing content you enjoy and not boring you to death! Haha! Have a great week and I’ll see you Friday!!
