Bedtime Beauty Routine

Happy hump day everyone!! How was your long weekend?? Did you do anything fun? A highlight from my weekend was kayaking for the first time with my dad. Awesome day on the water but oh so sunburned… #Don’tForgetTheSPF! Leave a comment and let me know what fun thing you did! Today I wanted to share my bedtime beauty routine! I’ve been more and more aware of my routine and using gentle products that have ingredients my skin needs. I have been getting little breakouts on my cheeks from stress lately (including lack of sleep!) and I have found that these products really help keep my skin happy and not looking like a tired pizza face LoL

First I have been using 2 face washes lately (the Origins face wash is also linked below) but I got this Organic Doctor Tea Tree face wash specifically for my breakouts and there’s a funny story behind it. I was talking to my friend Amanda and she told me she puts tea tree oil on her breakouts to clear them up and I should try that. About a minute later I was reading one of my favorite blogs and she was sharing a skin care line that had a tea tree oil collection! What are the chances?? So of course I ordered the face was immediately and I love it. It makes your skin feel nice and clean without being harsh and without leaving a residue. It’s also under $15 (at most) for a huge bottle so it’s a great value if you’re a girl watching her pocketbook. You can also find it at CVS!

Step 2 in my routine is to tone. I’ve been using the Pixi Glow Tonic as a toner and it’s what I’ve seen the most difference in my skin using. I originally went to buy this about a month before I actually did but decided against it because it has glycolic acid in it and I didn’t want to be too harsh on my skin. This was also before my two stress spots showed up and once they set up residence on my face I grabbed this lickety split. The texture of my skin, as well as the two stress affected spots, have both improved. I love the slight tightening feeling when I put it on and how effective it’s been. If you have breakouts from stress, hormones, or just want to make sure your pores are staying gunk free this is a great product and it’s only $15.

Step 3 is to add a little moisture back and give my skin some TLC. I do this with the Mario Badescu Facial Spray. I was actually gifted this from a friend and she gave it to me because it broke her out, so maybe be aware of that if you have super sensitive skin. To me though, it feels great when you spray it on and has a cooling and hydrating feel which is perfect after the glow tonic. The aloe and rosewater are also great this time of year when your skin is getting a lot more sun and needs a bit more nourishment.

Step 4 is a nourishing serum! I have been using the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate for the past 5 months and I still love it. You only use 3 drops each time and my first bottle isn’t even a quarter of the way gone in almost 6 months… talk about value! I love love love this product because when you wake up in the morning your skin is going to feel velvety soft and supple. This really soaks into your skin and hydrates but it has also improved my skins texture. Anything that hydrates and improves texture this well is an easy in with me.

Step 5 is an over night eye cream and this is a super recent one so it’s not pictured BUT I’ve been using the Retinol Spa Moisturizing Eye Cream with Vitamin E and Dead Sea Minerals and I love it. I love this one because it’s rich and creamy, applies really easy, soaks in quickly, and makes your under eye feel super hydrated in the morning, which is great if you aren’t getting your 8 hours in. It also has retinol in it which is the #1 recommended ingredient to help combat wrinkles, so no crows feet for me thank you very much! I got mine at Marshall’s but if you don’t have one near you I linked it from another retailer.

The final step is a nice, creamy moisturizer! You have to hydrate people… I remember when I was in middle school and I didn’t want to moisturize because I had acne and I thought it would clogs my pores and make my face more oily. So instead of pampering an already unhappy face I punished my skin and guess what? It didn’t help. I have been loving this Olay Age Defying Anti Wrinkle night cream because it’s the perfect consistency and doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy. I love the way it feels on my skin and I also love it’s under $12!

So what do you use in your bedtime beauty routine? Have you tried any of these products? Leave a comment if you have any questions about any of these items. One of my favorite thing about the products I use is that everything on this list is under $50 and most are under $20! Now that’s something I can rest easy with.

Thank you so much for reading!
